With less than a 1mm detail, would a rubber stamp be better ?and ink Its more in the detail, if the branding is too detailed, the burn wont come out right on the timber, it is a burn after all Then the circles in the TXF are 0.9mm, will they show up on the branding ? Well i scaled it to 50mm x 32mm, and the small dots are 0.6mm dia, lol , The zinc i have is from Door locks " zamak " but im not shore of the aluminium mix, could be anywhere from 6%-25%, so ill cast some small ingots and play with the mix until it looks right in small ingots, the cast large ingots on that mix
Ill be making a fake gold, " brass " a mix of 89% copper 8.5% zinc, 2.5% aluminium, well trying to make fake gold brass is the plan ,who knows what ill make, the photos of last week were "tap brass " just melted down water taps I want to try and see what finish i can get on my cast brass this week end ,play with the mixes of aluminium tin and zinc, and this seems a good project, before the clock cogs i want too make Ill cast a block of brass onto a 10m bolt, and machine the face of it this week end So if some one donates the art work, ( my fonts suck in CAD ) Got my furnace up too temp for copper / brass / bronze for the first time last week end ( 1090c )( Photo is my furnace sounding like a jet plane )
